Davidさんのところのポスドクの方のお仕事。詳細は知識がなくて追えないのですが,この研究かなりおもしろいのではないかと思います。最終的な細胞中のカドミウム濃度が同じでも,水中から摂取するか,餌から摂取するかで,抗酸化酵素の活性*1に対する影響が違うというお話。餌経由が大きい*2!これが本当で,他の種とかにも当てはまるとすれば,結構おもしろい気がするのですが,生物体内のことも勉強しないと*3。。結論にある以下の言葉は,はっとさせられます。

気になって,再読。基本的な理解度は変わらないのですが,依然この研究は示唆に富んでいるように思います。勝手な妄想ですが,antioxidant responseが例えばある種の生息状況を説明するのにどれくらい重要かというのが難しいところな気がします。例えば,以下のような言及とか。でもおもしろいなぁ。
